Dental Hygiene Jobs at ADP
Dental Hygiene Jobs are for dental care professionals to work as part of ADP Dental ’s dental team.
The job
While our dentists concentrate on treating our patient's overall dental health (tooth and gum conditions), our dental hygienists have a vital role in helping to prevent problems from arising and in the treatment of gum diseases.
As an dental hygienist you would carry out procedures such as advanced periodontal health management, deep
scaling and polishing teeth, and applying topical fluoride and fissure sealants.
Dental hygienists educate patients in the care of teeth and gums. They also demonstrate cleaning techniques and provide advice about the effects of diet. This Dental Hygiene job role is increasingly important as the emphasis in dentistry changes to prevention of dental diseases (not just decay).
Typical activities include:
- Working closely with dentists to carry out clinical treatments recommended by the latter, such as complex periodontal care, root surfaace cleaning, deep scaling and polishing to prevent and control periodontal (gum) disease;
- Taking impressions and radiographs (if trained to do so) and carrying out some minor treatments under supervision.
It is a requirement that all dental hygienists be registered with the General Dental Council (GDC).
You can contact the GDC at:
